W06 Entrepreneurial Journal – Self-Mastery and True Success

By Getzels De Los Santos This week’s study materials really made me think about what success means. One of the things that stood out to me most was the idea that true success comes from self-mastery. It’s not about how much money I have or how many followers I get. It’s about how well I control my thoughts, my actions, and my emotions. That idea is simple, but powerful. It made me realize that I have more control over my future than I thought. Another important thing I learned is that character matters more than luck or even talent. I don’t have to be perfect or the smartest person in the room. But I do need to be honest, hardworking, and someone others can trust. That’s what lasts in the long run. I’ve seen this in my own life—when I’m consistent and do the right thing, good things happen, even if it takes time. Finally, I loved the idea that each of us has a calling. We’re not here just to survive—we’re here to make a difference. That really motivates me. I want to find that th...

W05 Reflection – A Hero’s Journey and Mastery

W05 Reflection – A Hero’s Journey and Mastery By Getzels De Los Santos This week, I learned a lot from A Hero’s Journey and the readings about mastery. One of my favorite ideas was that success isn’t just about being the smartest or most talented. What matters more is who you are as a person—your character. That really made me think. I used to believe that being successful in business meant having the best skills. Now I see that honesty, hard work, and service are even more important. In A Hero’s Journey , I learned that we all have a calling, and we should live like our lives matter. That means thinking about the impact we want to leave, not just how much money we want to make. I liked the part that said we should focus on helping others. That’s something I want to do in my future business. I want to build something that not only helps me but also lifts others up. The readings also helped me understand that failure is part of the journey. It’s not about luck. It’s about sta...

W04 Entrepreneurial Journal – How Will You Measure Your Life?

By Getzels De Los Santos This week I learned a lot from the videos and readings. One of my favorite ideas came from the video Do What You Love . It helped me understand that when you do something you really enjoy, you will do it better. That made me think about my own career and future. I want to build a business, but I don’t want to choose something just because it makes money. I want to choose something I love, so I can give my best. Another thing that helped me was the idea of the “three circles.” What are you good at? What do you love to do? And what can people pay you to do? That was simple, but powerful. I never thought about all three together before. I think I’m good at working with technology and solving problems, and I really enjoy that. Now I want to find the best way to use those skills in a job or a business that supports my family. The last big idea was that success isn’t about working long hours. It’s about making smart choices. I used to feel guilty when I wasn’t alw...

W03 Reflection – Honesty & Business Ethics

By Getzels De Los Santos This week I learned about honesty and ethics in business. I really liked the readings and videos because they helped me think more about the kind of person I want to be, not just the kind of business I want to build. One thing that stood out to me was how important it is to have clear values before hard situations come. If I already decide now that I will be honest no matter what, it will be easier to say no to something wrong later. I also learned that honesty in business is not just about avoiding lies. It’s about doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. For example, keeping promises to customers, treating employees with respect, and being fair with money. In the long run, people trust honest companies more. I want my future business to be one that people can trust. Even if it grows slower, I believe it will be stronger. Something I really liked was learning about “moral guardrails.” This helped me a lot. I made a list of things I will never do...
